The Wallace Arts Trust Loan Programme
Over the years greater public access has been given to the Collection by making bodies of works available to institutions ranging from schools to universities and hospitals, on a permanent revolving loan basis.
The Trust currently has over 50 institutions borrowing more than 900 works from it’s 7,100+ Collection. Beside these larger loans a steady stream of public art galleries and museums borrow Trust works to compliment their exhibitions.
Many of our loans are installed in conjunction with the openings of major new buildings such as Waikato University’s Performing Arts Centre, AUT’s Learning Centre, Akoranga Campus Library and Business School, Westlake Boys High School Auditorium. This process adds to the prestige of the organisation housing the loan and gives the Trust and the many artists whose work is on display exposure to the wider public.
The Trust lends this artwork free of charge. We aim for a balance in the selection of works to reflect the nature of the Collection by including a range of established and emerging New Zealand artists. The Trust hopes to engage the public in contemporary New Zealand art that they would otherwise not see.
Please contact the Trust to find out if your organisation is eligible for a Trust loan.
